Praxis International Art presents No One’s Land, an exhibition of works by Priscila De Carvalho. The Exhibition will be on view from February 17th through March 20th, 2010.

Priscila De Carvalho’s installations are dynamic architectural landscapes composed of paintings, drawings, collage, foam and rubber that convey the complexity, chaos and paradoxes of contemporary urban life in cities, sprawling, decaying and affected by uncontrolled massive urbanization.

A Recipient of the 2009 Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant and of the 2010 Sculpture Space Fellowship and Residency Program, her works have been featured in individual and group exhibitions in the US including The Aljira Center for Contemporary Arts and The Jersey City Museum.

This is De Carvalho’s first solo show with Praxis International Art.

Bio/Resume


Priscila De Carvalho was born in Brazil in 1975. Among many professional accomplishments are her prestigious Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (2008), Aljira Emerge 10 Fellowship (2008), NYFA Immigrant Outreach Program (2008) and Queens Council on The Arts Fund (QCAF 2009). She has been included in a number of group shows in New Jersey and New York, including a solo show at The Jersey City Museum(2009). Currently, she is the workspace artist-in-residency at Jamaica Center for the Arts and Learning Residency Program(2009). In 2010, she will participate in the AIM Program at the Bronx Museum and Sculpture Space Residency at Utica, NY. Her work has been reviewed by the The New York Times (August 2009), Art Aldia International (March 09), Art Nexus (August 2009) and many others. Ms. Carvalho lives and works in Long Island City, New York.
