New York’s 1500 Gallery will be showing a selection of 20 images of the World Trade Center by Brazilian Artists.

From Thursday, May 10, through Sunday, May 13, the FB Gallery of Brazilian Art in downtown Manhattan will be showcasing an exhibition of photographs by children living in the Rocinha slum in Rio de Janeiro.

Brazilian photographer Tuca Vieira, winner of the Prêmio Porto Seguro in 2010, is currently showing his latest work at 1500Gallery in New York City. The show opened on MArch 30, and will be open to visitors until July 30, 2011. In this exclusive interview with BrazilNYC, Mr. Vieira talks about his work experience in Berlin and also talks about his fascination with Berlin.

Photographer Geralyn Shukwit spent two weeks along the back roads of Bahia, traveling with fellow photographer Ernesto Bazan and six others from all over the world. The images she took during that trip can now be seen in Brooklyn, NY, at Pillow Cafe-Lounge, located on 505 Myrtle Ave, Brooklyn, NY.
