Census Partnership Specialist Luise Pedroso Kipler held an event this past Saturday, February 13, 2010, at the Barril Grill bar in Astoria, to promote the upcoming 2010 Census to the Brazilian community in New York City.
Census 2010
The event started with a presentation from Group Capoeira Brasil and united several members from the Brazilian community in the area, including Casa Do Brasil’s Benito Romero, who committed to helping the Census to increase its returned-form rates.
According to Ms. Kippler, the Census is completely private and it helps the federal government map and re-organize the public budget on many areas, including education, health and transportation.
